SAN FRANCISCO — Yes, the real-life San Francisco Fire Department did show up the other day for the faux Chinatown restaurant fire created by the makers of TV’s “Trauma,” but that was with full awareness that where there was smoke, there was a film crew, says the Fire Department’s Mindy Talmadge.
Standard practice is to respond to calls, even when the department’s been forewarned that fake fires have been scheduled.
“That’s what we do,” said Talmadge, “check out anything reported.”
