NEW YORK — A New Yorker who was lying helplessly in his flame-engulfed apartment, suffering from cardiac arrest, has been pulled to safety and revived.
The heroics happened late Thursday night in Queens.
With help from colleagues, Firefighter Brian Connelly — flames rolling over his head — fought his way into the kitchen of the Astoria home, where he found and rescued the 50-year-old victim.
The unidentified man regained his pulse in the back of the ambulance.
The Fire Department says he is “now awake and sitting up at the hospital.”
