ANDERSON, Ind. — A fire sent flames high into the nighttime sky, destroyed a warehouse and forced the evacuation of about 20 nearby homes.
The fire began late Monday and firefighters were still on the scene Tuesday afternoon to douse hot spots.
The warehouse belonged to a business that used plastics and residents were evacuated because of the potential for toxic fumes. They were allowed to return home a few hours later after a hazardous materials team determined there was no danger.
The cause of the blaze was under investigation, city Fire Chief David Clendenen said.
