A man whose car crashed into a vehicle on fire on a motorway hard shoulder has been found guilty of causing the death of a firefighter tackling the blaze. Paul Mallaghan was tackling the fire on the A1(M) near Stevenage, Hertfordshire last June when the car was hit.
Mr Mallaghan, 46, who was based at Stevenage, died later in hospital.
Anthony Hing, 61, now of Liverpool, was found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving at Luton Crown Court. He is due to be sentenced in October.
