AVOCA, Mich. — Firefighter Peter Neilson responded with his crew to an emergency medical call late in the evening. While on the scene, he was speaking with family members of the patient in an adjoining room when he sat down on a chair and suddenly passed out. Care was initiated immediately on scene and he was transported to the local hospital where he succumbed to an apparent heart attack.
