BRANSON, Mo. — Firefighters are gearing up to participate in a combat competition.
Branson Tri-Lakes News reported that the combat challenge will consist of fire and rescue personnel competing in full bunker gear. Contestants will race against the clock as they compete for the title.
“The gear weighs approximately anywhere from 40 to 50 pounds — depending on what you’re wearing on top of what your body weight already,” Capt. Scott Cizek said.
The “Guns N’ Hoses” event will also take place.
“Police and firefighters will square off against each other in a fun competition,” Capt. Cizek said. “It’s basically a relay event with five-person teams where each person does one part of the relay.”
The weekend-long event is part of Branson’s mission to promote firefighter appreciation month.
