HELENA, Mont. — City officials recommend firing three Helena firefighters who allegedly engaged in sex while on duty, and later lied about it.
The Independent Record newspaper reported the recommendations on its Web site Friday night.
The newspaper says a fourth firefighter has been demoted after admitting he had a sexual relationship with a subordinate.
City Attorney David Nielsen released documents relating to a two-month investigation into the matter. The allegations involve a woman firefighter accused of having sexual relationships with three male officers in the department over the past two years.
Officials recommended the firing of the woman and two of the men, a fire captain and a lieutenant. The newspaper says another lieutenant accepted a demotion in rank to firefighter, after admitting he engaged in sexual activity with the subordinate firefighter on- and off-duty.
