N.Y. firefighter admits he set 4 fires

By Times Herald-Record (New York)

Former volunteer firefighter Patrick Dickson Jr. pleaded guilty to four counts of arson and six other felony counts for starting fires in four buildings in the Walker Valley area last spring and summer.

The 21-year-old Pine Bush resident was charged with setting fires in buildings that included an occupied home. The fires caused more than $100,000 damage, according to Ulster County District Attorney Don Williams.

Dickson’s arrest shocked his neighbors and fellow firefighters. One of the fires was particularly notorious: a fire in a barn owned by Lynn Inglima that contained about $20,000 in marching uniforms and equipment belonging to the Walker Valley Marching Band. Dickson had been a drummer in the band since he was 10 years old.
