A firefighter with the Patchogue, N.Y., Fire Department collapsed and died Thursday while participating in a detail at the department headquarters.
Edward Summers was a 35 year member of the department and previously served at the North Merrick Fire Departments for 12 years.
The cause of death has not yet been determined.
