President Bush nominates veteran firefighter to USFA post

WASHINGTON D.C. — President Bush nominated Gregory B. Cade, of Virginia to hold office as Administrator of the United States Fire Administration - a branch of the Department of Homeland Security - according to information released by the White House on Monday. Cade began his career as a volunteer firefighter and currently serves as Fire Chief and Emergency Services Coordinator of the City of Virginia Beach Fire Department.

In his new role, Cade will oversee public awareness programs and training aimed at reducing the loss of life for fire incidents nationally. President Bush announced Cade’s nomination on Monday. An official selection of the final candidate has yet to be released.
