NEW YORK — A newly identified Nine-Eleven victim was a firefighter, but relatives have decided not to go public with the name.

The Fire Department of New York says the victim’s remains were recovered from the World Trade Center site in 2001.

In a letter to the families of the 128 fire department victims, Assistant Fire Commissioner Suzanne Sebert says the department respects the family’s wish to not publicize the name.

The remains of a second victim also were identified last week. Officials say that family has not decided whether to go public.
