OXFORD, Ga. -- A volunteer rookie firefighter has been arrested on suspicion of starting a fire in the city.
Jerry Lee Pollitt, 19, was arrested for third-degree arson, said Oxford Fire Chief Adam Cooper.
An investigation began after fire officials believed the Nov. 19 fire set in a wooded area of the city “could have been started by a firefighter,” Cooper said.
