BLACKSBURG, S.C. — A firefighter was injured when a fire truck hydroplaned en route to a house fire in South Carolina on Tuesday.
Christopher Vaughn, 18, of the Blacksburg Fire Department, was driving the truck during stormy weather when it crashed into a ditch, according to reports.
Firefighter Vaughn, who was wearing a seat belt, was extricated from the vehicle and taken to the hospital with injuries said to be not life-threatening.
Wyff4.com reported that the truck was travelling at about 40 to 45 mph when it hit standing water in the road, causing the truck to hydroplane.
