DETROIT — A school bus and fire truck collided this morning, injuring two firefighters and creating a scare for the five students on the bus, officials said.
The collision happened as the bus was traveling east on Six Mile Road in Detroit about 7:40 a.m. while a Detroit Fire Department ladder truck was traveling north on Greenfield Road, said Detroit Public Schools spokeswoman Mattie Majors.
The impact heavily damaged the bus’s front end, Majors said. On board the bus were five students on their way to summer school at the Jerry L. White High School for students with physical or medical challenges.
