DEL RIO, Texas — A Texas firefighter died Friday after experiencing a fall.
Val Verde County Rural Volunteer Fire Department Lieutenant Larry Gale Nelson, 61, fell from a small step ladder while working at the fire station.
Lt. Nelson, who was a member of the fire service for six years, had also responded to an emergency call the previous day that was cancelled while firefighters were en route.
The exact cause of Lt. Nelson’s death is yet to be determined.
