Two Chicago firefighters suffered minor injuries this morning battling an extra-alarm blaze that tore through several businesses in a Northwest Side building.
The fire erupted about 5:15 a.m. inside the kitchen of the Bread Basket restaurant, 6013 N. Cicero Av., fire department spokesman Larry Langford said.
A second alarm was rung up when firefighters issued a “mayday” call when the roof of the one-story commercial building collapsed, threatening firefighters, Langford said.
