NORFOLK, Va. — A Virginia firefighter died Tuesday after succumbing to an injury suffered while on duty.
While participating in shift change and roll call on Saturday, Captain Carl Nordwall, of the Norfolk Airport Fire Department, reported discomfort and collapsed.
Medical assistance including CPR and the use of a defibrillator was rendered immediately by fellow firefighters and Captain Nordwall was transported to a hospital where he eventually died.
The funeral for Captain Nordwall will be held on Saturday, October 10 at 1400 hours at the Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, Va.
