WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va. — When it comes to saving lives, you can never get too much training.
Firefighters all agree on that. But, it’s the type of training that’s creating concerns for some. A new standard for fire officers could leave some gaps for volunteer departments.
“You can’t train experience,” Ceredo Volunteer Fire Department Chief Dave Caudill said. “A lot of firefighting is based on what types of fires you’ve seen and learned from in the past.”
