CRAWFORD, N.Y. — Nearly a year after firefighter Justin Speights was stabbed to death at a New Year’s Eve party, police have arrested a second man for deleting evidence from his phone.

Justin Speights, 20, was stabbed to death Jan. 1 while trying to break up a fight at a party. Guests attempted to revive Speights, but he later died at the hospital.

Robert Lemmount, 21, was arrested in September in connection with Speights’ death, reported the Journal News. Police said Lemmount allegedly reset his iPhone shortly after the stabbing. He faces charges of tampering with evidence and could face one to four years in prison.

A second individual, Rasso Chambers, 19, was arraigned Wednesday for tampering with physical evidence. A judge set Chambers’ bail at $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond.

Officials did not comment on whether a murder suspect has been identified. A $20,000 reward for information on Speights’ murder has been offered — police had initially offered $10,000.
