CHICAGO — Firefighters rescued two adults and a child from a suspicious fire in the Far South Side’s West Pullman neighborhood this morning, officials said.

About 5:30 a.m., firefighters arrived at a two-story house and saw flames spreading quickly in the front of the building, fire officials said.

The back of the building was boarded up, and firefighters saw two adults and a girl standing near second story windows in the front, Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford said.

Firefighters used ladders to reach the second floor and were able to bring all three to safety.

Paramedics brought one person to Roseland Community Hospital in fair-to-serious condition.

Officials found a gas can on a sidewalk near the home and believe the fire may have been set intentionally, Langford said.
