DUNEDIN, Fla. — A woman was arrested Tuesday after deputies said she intentionally set fire to her home at 1965 Sourwood Blvd. on June 11.

Colleen Marie Huber, 57, was charged with first-degree arson, a felony.

Huber was home alone when she set fire to her husband’s bed, according to an arrest report. The fire destroyed the bed, dresser, television and nightstand, then spread to the attic and burned through the roof.

A firefighter received first-degree burns on his face and legs while fighting the fire, but was not hospitalized. Firefighters rescued two dogs and several birds from the home, which was for sale.

Huber escaped the home and was arrested in her back yard “while the house was still burning,” according to the arrest report. Huber admitted to paramedics that she set the blaze, deputies said.

Huber was taken to the Pinellas County Jail, with bond set at $50,000. She bonded out of jail early Wednesday.
