PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire is now designated ISO Class 1.
New Pittsburgh Courier reported that only 132 other departments have the prestigious certification. Pittsburgh is now the third Pennsylvania fire department to have the certification.
“This is a proud moment for the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire,” Fire Chief Darryl Jones said. “This is proof that the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire is among the best of the best when it comes to delivering a high quality of fire protection services.”
The rating means lower insurance premiums for residential, commercial and industrial properties.
