Calif. fire capt. burned in wildfire returns to work

CORONA, Calif. — The Corona fire captain who was burned while fighting the North fire in the Cajon Pass in July has returned to work after seven weeks, the Fire Department said.

Roger Williams, who suffered second- and third-degree burns to one of his legs on July 18, was back on duty Sept. 10.

“We’re celebrating Roger’s return to work; it is great to hear his voice back on the radio. Welcome home Roger,” Fire Chief David Duffy said in a news release.
