PUEBLO, Colo. — The Pueblo Rural (Colo.) Fire Department helped make a boy with brain cancer’s wish come true: being a firefighter.
Christopher Young, 5, was given his own fire chief hat, jacket and spent a day with firefighters.
“He’s definitely into fire trucks and firefighting,” Young’s father told KRDO.
Young’s family moved from Florida to treat his brain tumor, which his father said “affects everything. His left side of his body he’s partially paralyzed in his left hand and left leg.”
“We just jumped at the chance to do something like this. We thought this was a great opportunity to bring a smile to this young man’s face,” firefighter Grant Genova said.
