Pa. firefighter-EMT dies from cancer

ELIZABETH TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Amanda Jo Gogoel, 29, a firefighter and EMT with Blaine Hill Volunteer Fire Co., died after battling Hodgkin’s Lymphoma for nearly a year.

“For anyone who knew Amanda, she was proud to be a fireman/EMT,” BHVFC wrote in a Facebook post announcing funeral arrangements.

In a previous Facebook post, the company shared news of Gogoel’s death, saying the woman had been in remission. “We lost a part of our family.”

Gogoel was also a certified CPR instructor.
