JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A family is warning other parents to be careful after they captured their son’s ride-on toy truck burning in their driveway.
FOX30 reported that Sheena Haney filmed the Tonka dump truck catching fire as her husband tried to move it.
“He kept putting it out with the hose and it just kept catching on fire and the wheels just kept running,” Haney said.
Toys R Us said there was a recall on the truck in May, but it was only for the acceleration pedal. There was no mention of a fire hazard.
Haney said that Toys R Us called the fire an isolated incident but sent an engineer to come look at the toy. She added that they are being reimbursed and the company is taking back the truck.
“We want all parents to know to beware if it’s in your garage especially, because we were lucky enough our son wasn’t on it and it wasn’t in the garage,” Haney said.
