NASHVILLE, Tenn. ― A Nashville firefighter suffered major injuries while battling an apartment fire Monday after he collapsed.
The 10-year veteran remained in ICU Tuesday, reported the Tennessean.
“We were cleaning up and, for some reason, he fell over,” Nashville Fire Department spokesman Brian Haas said. “It’s unclear if the main injuries were before the fall or as a result of the fall.”
Nashville Fire Chief Rick White and Deputy Chief Steve Holt visited the firefighter Tuesday and said that while he was alert and talking, he will be remain in the hospital for an undetermined period.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family as he rests in stable condition in the ICU,” Hass said.
Two other firefighters were injured while fighting separate fires Monday.
