Rogue broadcaster transmitting false messages to crews in Md.

Recent false radio traffic targeting at least two Prince George’s County Fire Stations — Company 9 in Bladensburg and Company 10 in Laurel — has prompted the county Fire EMS department to call for the rogue radio operator to cease and desist or face the consequences.

“Right now, it’s no harm no foul,” said Prince George’s County Fire EMS Department spokesman Mark Brady. “If you cease and desist now, the investigation can’t go forward.”

Brady warned, however, that sooner or later the perpetrator behind the false radio traffic would be caught if he continues.
