AUBURN, Calif. — A strike team that shared a meal together at a diner on their day off ended up going to work to help the understaffed restaurant.
When Strike Team 9332C took a day off from working the Bridge Fire, they jumped in to help the understaffed restaurant workers at the Black Bear Diner by serving their own food and bussing their tables.
“Firefighters, always here to give a helping hand,” a post on Facebook read.
The Bridge Fire started under the Foresthill Bridge in Auburn on Sunday. The fire has burned 411 acres and is now 65% contained.
