ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. — An Upstate teenager, who is a volunteer firefighter, was charged after he admitted to deputies that he set fire to three homes, a business and a wooded area, according to authorities.
Dylan Cole Mathews, 17, is charged with three counts of third-degree arson and one count of willfully burning lands of another, according to arrest warrants.
Anderson County Fire Chief Jimmy Sutherland confirmed Mathews was a volunteer firefighter. He said he was part of the Junior Firefighter Program and has been dismissed from the program.
