DALLAS — Friends, family and community members continue to search for a retired Dallas firefighter who went missing five days ago.

Michael Chambers, 70, was last seen via surveillance video walking out of a store March 10; he was not followed. He also spoke to his wife that morning, who reported him missing later that night.

Chambers’ son, John, said his father was supposed to watch his grandchildren play soccer the following day.

“We just can’t put any scenario together in our heads that makes any sense at all,” Cheri Hanes, Chambers’ daughter, told NCB Dallas Fort Worth.

Earlier this week, officials said it was possible Chambers did not leave his home alone. A small amount of blood was also found inside Chambers’ home workshop; a blood test is being conducted.

“We observed indicators that he did not leave on his own,” Sheriff Randy Meeks told the Dallas Morning News. “Several items of his were also missing.”

“It’s excruciating. Not knowing is excruciating,” Chambers’ daughter, Suzy Losoya said. “Someone saw something, someone has to know something.”

Anyone with information regarding Chambers’ disappearance is encouraged to contact the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office.
