SAN FRANCISCO — Eight people were taken to the hospital early today after a van and sedan, both driven by drunken drivers, crashed in San Francisco, police said.
The van carrying two people ran a red light at the intersection of 10th and Howard streets around 12:30 a.m. and slammed into the sedan carrying six people, said police Sgt. Daryl Fong.
Fire crews had to use the Jaws of Life to remove people from the sedan, Fong said. At least two victims were in critical condition at San Francisco General Hospital, he said.
