NIMISHILLEN TOWNSHIP., Ohio — A fallen firefighter’s gravestone statue was stolen over the weekend.

A 2-foot statue of firefighter Scott Hickinbotham’s has been at his gravesite for the last two years, but his wife recently reported it was stolen.

Hickinbotham died from a rare form of leukemia more than 30 years ago, but his wife, Barbara, continues to visit his grave.

“People don’t have any respect for the living or the dead,” his wife told the Canton Rep. “That’s pretty low. It’s frustrating.”

She said she frequently visits the gravesite with their children and they have picnics there. Since the theft, she’s been posting on Facebook in hope that someone will return the statue.
