LODD: NJ firefighter dies after 2 calls

MARLTON, N.J. — A 33-veteran firefighter died from a heart attack Monday morning after responding to two calls Sunday.

Evesham (N.J.) Fire-Rescue firefighter Joseph Bichler, 66, responded to two separate fire calls Sunday. He reported to the station, stood-by until the fire apparatus returned and then assisted getting the apparatus back into service, reported USFA.

The following morning, Bichler collapsed in his driveway and went into cardiac arrest. Crew from his fire department responded to the scene and performed CPR until he was transported to a hospital, where he died.
