CINCINNATI — A Cincinnati firefighter was driving his motorcycle to work Sunday morning when a car traveling the opposite direction crossed the center line and struck his motorcycle head-on.
Cincinnati.com reported that firefighter Jordan Pieniazek, 31, who joined the department in 2009, was killed in the crash. He was wearing his helmet.
“He was a fantastic guy, very enthused about the job, about life,” Local 48 President Matt Alter said. “He had a very calm, but passionate, demeanor. He was a fantastic individual.”
Pieniazek leaves behind a wife and three children, ages 6, 3 and 1. His son celebrated his first birthday on Saturday, according to the report.
