COLLEGEVILLE TOWNSHIP, Minn. — A Minnesota firefighter died after falling 10 to 12 feet onto a concrete patio.
Fox9 reported that police responded to a call at firefighter Chad Kraemer’s home when he fell from a sliding glass door onto a concrete patio. Although deputies tried to revive him, Kraemer was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members said they believe Kraemer had woken up in the middle of the night to let some air in when he fell.
Officials said the sliding glass door is like a “deck door,” but since Kraemer’s family was in the process of replacing an old deck, there was nothing on the other side.
Kraemer was a Cold Spring Fire Department and rescue squad member for 19 years. He leaves behind his wife and three children.
