SNOWVILLE, Va. — A volunteer fire lieutenant died over the weekend in a motorcycle crash.
Snowville fire Lt. Justin Garrett Smith, 37, died at the scene after his motorcycle veered off the road and over an embankment, reported the Roanoke Times.
Lt. Smith’s fellow firefighters responded to the scene, but were unable to save him.
The crash remains under investigation.
Lt. Smith leaves behind his wife and two children. Funeral services will be held Friday.
