MONTEREY PARK, Calif. — Three firefighters were injured battling a four-alarm fire that tore through 11 businesses at a strip mall in Monterey Park Wednesday morning.

The fire was reported in the 100 block of North Moore Avenue (map) just before 8 a.m., according to a spokeswoman for the Monterey Park Fire Department.

Aerial video from Sky5 showed one firefighter atop a ladder truck attempting to douse the flames from above the strip mall as other crews attacked the fire from the ground. The fire quickly grew from a 1-alarm to a 4-alarm incident as flames continued to rage through the businesses in the strip mall, according to Capt. Matt Hallock of the Fire Department.
