GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. — Three firefighters were injured Sunday night after flames engulfed two Grosse Pointe Park businesses, officials said.

One firefighter suffered a sprained ankle and two others were temporarily downed with smoke inhalation after the blaze broke out at about 11 p.m at the Sunrise Saloon and Rock N Rice, a new boutique cycling studio.

The businesses are at Charlevoix and Beaconsfield, according to Public Safety Director Dave Hiller. “We got the call shortly after the bar closed at about 10 p.m.,” Hiller said. “The windows and doors were hot, which was a real concern. We forced entry and tried to do an interior attack but the fire was in the roof above our heads. It collapsed and we then moved to an extensive exterior attack.”
