NEW YORK — Six firefighters were transported to the hospital after a massive fire consumed at least six shops.
New York Post reported that the four-alarm blaze started in a dry-cleaning building and spread quickly to other stores, according to officials.
“Ten people ran out of the barber shop — they were working,” witness Joany Perez said.
Around 100 firefighters worked for four hours to contain the fire, and six firefighters were sent to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
“They are all gone,” Perez said about the stores. “I heard an explosion in the Chinese restaurant. It was closed.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
