LEE COUNTY, La. — A delay in response was caused after a caller Sunday morning gave the wrong address of a house fire, according to fire officials.

The fire was located at 2393 340th Street, near Keokuk. Jackson Township Fire Captain of Training and Safety Paul Henson says the Wever Fire Department was mistakenly called out.

“I don’t know how it happened,” Henson said. “But, it caused a good 10 to 15-minute delay.” The garage was down to the ground and the home was fully-involved by the time they arrived. Fire departments in Keokuk, Argyle and Montrose also responded to the fire.
