ONTARIO COUNTY, N.Y. — Firefighters responded to a blaze at a fire station early Tuesday.
Democrat & Chronicle reported that the fire occurred at the Ionia (N.Y.) Volunteer Fire Company station at about 3 a.m.
The building was heavily damaged in the blaze. Trucks and some equipment inside the building were saved, authorities said.
Several fire departments responded to the blaze, which took about two hours to get under control.
Fire Chief Lynn Parris said the fire department is still open for business.
