MT. EDEN, Ky. — The Mount Eden Volunteer Fire Department is rebuilding its station, almost eight months after it was destroyed by a fire.
Crews started working last week on the new station, which is being built on the spot where the old one once stood.
“To go from what I saw that morning to this is just fabulous,” said Mt. Eden Fire Lt. John Butler. In August 2014, a fire destroyed the building, charred fire trucks and left 25 volunteer firefighters without a home. Butler says it was likely caused by an electrical problem.
