TULSA, Okla. — A firefighter was taken to the hospital after a ceiling collapsed during a fire that appeared to have been caused by vandals.
Tulsa World reported that dozens of boats were damaged at the Tulsa Rowing Club and investigators believe the fire to be linked to a burglary or break-in. The fire started inside the club’s boathouse and part of the plywood ceiling collapsed and landed on a firefighter while battling the blaze. The firefighter was taken to a hospital and was later released after being evaluated.
By the time the fire was extinguished, half of the building was destroyed.
While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, graffiti and other suspicious damage was found inside the boathouse.
