KNOVILLE, Tenn. — A Knoxville firefighter injured his ankle after fighting a fire at the JD Byrider located at 8413 Kingston Pike this afternoon.
The name of the fireman was not released, but he was taken to the hospital for X-rays. No other injuries were reported.
According to DJ Corcoran, spokesman for the department, firefighters were called to the business at about 1:30 p.m. and found a fire in the service center area.
The cause of the fire, which was contained to the rear of the building around a Ford Expedition that was parked inside to be serviced, is still under investigation. Workers in the sales area of the car dealership at the time told firefighters no one had been in the service center since Friday evening.
