TYLER, Texas — A firefighter was hospitalized after suffering a medical emergency at the scene of a structure fire Sunday.
The firefighter fell ill while he was outside of the burning building. Tyler Assistant Fire Marshal Brandon David said the firefighter is undergoing testing and treatment. His condition will be updated when more information is released.
Firefighters evacuated eight people from the two-story structure; there were no other injuries, reported KTRE.
The fire remains under investigation.
