YONKERS, N.Y. — New York’s Yonkers and New Rochelle fire departments responded to a call to extinguish a massive house fire that required a 55-person crew response.

The fire was located at a multifamily, two-story apartment building made from wood frames, which turned into a two-alarm fire, according to the News 12 Westchester.

Ten firefighters received minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment. All building residents were evacuated safely, but 12 families were displaced due to the fire.

The fire was declared under control at 11:31 p.m., Wednesday night, but firefighters were still putting out hot spots on Thursday morning.

The American Red Cross is helping those who were displaced.
