SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Those interested in becoming a seasonal firefighter with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection can now file applications.
Employment for the Fire Fighter I position with CAL FIRE lasts nine months and involves fighting wildland and structure fires and responses to other emergencies.
The application period is open through January 29, 2010, and hiring for the position usually occurs each April, May or June, depending on fire season conditions.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have the ability to do strenuous work.
