TYRONE, Okla. — An entire volunteer fire department in an Oklahoma town resigned Monday.

ABC7Amarillo.com reported Tyrone Fire Chief Anthony Adams resigned and told his crew that there was “too much politics to continue.”

Following Chief Adams’ announcement, all 12 crew members decided to resign as well. Nearby volunteer fire departments will cover the department’s area in the meantime.

On Wednesday, city council officials asked the department to return $1,000 that had been in a fund provided by the city. The fund was made up of donations and forestry funds.
