MT. JULIET, Tenn. — A 7-year-old girl with a rare genetic disorder was selected as the Mt. Juliet (Tenn.) Fire Department’s newest assistant fire chief on Monday.
WKRN reported that Gracie Duplisea was born with Prader-Willi Syndrome, which is a rare disorder that results in physical, mental and behavioral problems. She loves all things related to emergency services.
Gracie took part in a special parade of emergency vehicles and rang the bells and horns in the fire trucks and ambulances.
She also got to show off her custom-made fire truck wheelchair.
The fire department said they were honored and humbled to spend time with Gracie and name her a fire chief.
